We’re having a Moodle teaparty

OLCHSIf you’re at a school in the North West, less than an hour’s drive from mine, keep a look out in the New Year for an invitation to come and pay us a visit.

Over the last five years, our use of Moodle has developed to such an extent that we now frequently have requests from other schools to come and  see it in operation. In addition to helping us deliver the curriculum,  Moodle has given our local community a window into our school and has proved invaluable in supporting our primary schools. Over 400 KS2 children regularly log in to our VLE alongside our own pupils.

While many schools use a VLE, it is often difficult to get past the “closed door”. With this in mind, the Powers That Be at my school have decided to hold a   Moodle Coffee afternoon (tea party- whatever your preference!)  on Wednesday February 2nd. You’ll be shown inside our Moodle and will have a chance to meet and chat with the people responsible for driving it forward, maintaining it and creating content. You’ll also get a 24 hour log in to our Moodle so you can view courses and content at your leisure -and experience  a real live Moodle – warts and all! (and it is warty, believe me!)
This is a community driven event for local schools, entirely free, but because the school is using the on-site Our Learning training centre as the venue, there will be a limit on places. (Well it would be nice to have hundreds in the Hall, but we’d have to kick the Drama classes out then!! )   I’ll post more more info in the New Year, but if the postman is a bit tardy with his delivery to your school, then check out the training centre site too (@ourlearning) and they will put up contact details there as well.

Merry Christmas!
