Drag and drop pictures into labels in Moodle

One of the best things to come out of Moodle recently is the drag and drop feature. But have you ever wished you could drag and drop an image, say, and have it appear instantly embedded on your course page? Moodle’s Drag and Drop Super hero Davo Smith  is working on this right now – see here https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-34137 and also this forum thread here https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=219294

Basically the idea is that when you drag and drop a media file, Moodle asks you if you want to upload it as a resouce (to click on and open) or to embed it into a label. As an added bonus, Davo has also created a setting to automatically rezise large images so they don’t distort your course page if you forgot, or weren’t aware, of the issues. It’s also possible on the admin settings page to turn this feature off if you feel it’s not suitable for your Moodle.

I made a quick rough and ready screencast to show work in progress  – here it is:
